Second release of Operating System portable binary tables (THB), for storing efficiently the text-tables for representation of ISO8859-1 and others (the latter tables were released by the Unicode consortium). All THB (binary tables) were built using 'guncoder', based on the text-tables referred. The library provides abstraction of the processor specific formats, so all tables rely on network-order for portability. ISO8859-1 is directly mapped on unicode256.thb, and can be extended to a maximum of 65533 entries, according to Unicode 4.0. This package also contains the client for reporting these tables. unicode256_2006-01.tar.gz presents the latest updates on symbol namings, from UnicodeData 4.1.0.
